How It Started


As a lifelong entrepreneur and matriarch of the Hendren family, Lisa has forever longed for the opportunity to help couples celebrate their big day.

In 2017, Lisa took a leap of faith and began her pursuit of designing the perfect wedding venue: The Manor at Mount Carmel.

Lisa now thrives as she gets to use her event planning background daily, tailoring each event to her clients needs. In her spare time, Lisa is an avid reader and loves decorating and designing.

Through her large extended family and strong, social network, Lisa works hard to ensure that guests of The Manor at Mount Carmel have access to the most creative and talented vendors required for the occasion.

Norman Hendren

Born and raised in Ripley, TN, Norman is a very successful construction company owner. This licensed pilot, scuba-diver, loving husband and father has decided to use his construction background to rekindle the colonial magic of The Manor at Mount Carmel. As a co-owner, Norman will be there not only to assist in any maintenance of the facilities but also by ensuring that the landscaping and other parts of the 22-acre estate are well-maintained. It is his hope that you will feel the love and care he has put into each and every one of the buildings as you and your guests enjoy The Manor at Mount Carmel.

Jenny Hendren Gaines

Lisa and Norman's daughter, Jenny, received her bachelors degree from Union University majoring in Psychology with a minor in Business Management and Marketing. She then graduated from the University of Memphis as a Licensed School Psychologist. Described by her friends as caring and passionate, Jenny's greatest strength is her willingness to go above and beyond; doing what ever it takes to help her friends and family. As co-event planner for The Manor at Mount Carmel, she hopes to show you and your guests that same level of help while working alongside you to plan your dream event. Furthermore, her knowledge of social media and digital marketing platforms will bode well as she will be the communications and marketing coordinator for The Manor at Mount Carmel. Jenny loves spending time with her family at the lake and playing with her dog, Daisy.

Reese Gaines

As a lifelong family friend and the newest member of the Hendren family, born and raised in Ripley, TN, Reese stepped right in to help manage the property at The Manor at Mount Carmel. He utilizes his farming background to help take care of the property. Reese grows cotton, beans, and corn and puts his knowledge towards bettering the grounds. Some words that describe him would be: hardworking, passionate and a problem solver. Reese enjoys hunting, boating, snow skiing, and playing with his dog, Daisy. Help us welcome Reese to the family and to The Manor at Mount Carmel.

Paige Hendren

The first born in the family, Paige loves playing and watching sports. He is an avid water sports enthusiast who spends most of his spare time listening to podcasts, hunting and playing the banjo. Paige brings experience in customer service from his background in retail sales. A small business owner in his own right, Paige's landscaping skills also come in handy ensuring that the property is pristine and well-kept for each and every event. He also hopes to use his experience to help assist his father in many of the day-to-day facilities maintenance and operations.

Chelsea Hendren

Born in Ripley, Tennessee, Chelsea met her husband Paige through church, where they started dating at a young age. Chelsea looks to do her part to help out her newly acquired family's business. Just like her husband, Chelsea loves both water and snow skiing, collecting photos, embroidery and taking care of her beloved dog, Manning. A nurse by trade, Chelsea has a strong passion for helping and caring for others, which is evident with every client. At The Manor at Mount Carmel, Chelsea will co-serve as the social media marketing coordinator.
